Detailed descriptions of each trail are available, and our helpful staff are on hand to recommend the best route for your preferences. For added safety, we can provide you with a GPS tracker showing all trail routes, or you can download GPX files to your own device.
Please note that while the trails are designed with comfort and safety in mind, Iketla Lodge cannot accept responsibility for any injuries sustained while exploring. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
This trail offers three natural look-out points with great views of the valley and very impressive views of the mountain ranges to the South.

Ideal for a late afternoon or early morning stroll. Good for birding and identification of tree and plant species (at least 7 different Aloe species can be spotted on this route). Great views of the mountain ranges to the South.

After a short, relatively steep descent into the valley below, you will enter an indigenous forest with a vast variety of tree species. You will cross a natural fountain, then continue in the lushly vegetated ravine, rich in birdlife and surrounded by towering dolomite cliffs. A gradual ascent brings you back to the lodge.

Join our field guide for a morning walk and discover more about the fascinating wildlife, insects, bird species, and the traditional African uses of local plants and trees. This activity is complimentary and takes place before breakfast. Be sure to book ahead to secure your spot.
For your safety, closed shoes are required, as some trails include rocky areas, and you may encounter wildlife such as snakes and scorpions. Please stick to the marked paths at all times and do not run on the walking trails.
